| I was wanting to look into FreeBSD. I am just going to play around with it as I've never used it before. I use Linux all the time, so is FreeBSD really much different at all?

| i've never used it myself but personally i don't think it's worth it. i have known a few people who swear by BSD (including one of my lecturers) but i personally prefer the idea of the linux kernel.

| I think I'm still going to give it a try to see what it's all about. I know a lot of people swear by it, but I just want to see what the difference is.

"Naming them would either make it clear that Linux is not infringing at all (which is quite possible, especially if the patents are bad), or would make it possible to avoid infringing by coding around whatever silly thing they claim," "So the whole 'We have a list and we're not telling you' should tell you something. Don't you think that if Microsoft actually had some really foolproof patent, they'd just tell us and go, 'nyaah, nyaah, nyaah!'?" whole story here: http://www.vnunet.com/vnunet/news/21...-microsoft-put |
