GameGURU is on a distinguished road

Default Another question (Sound Card)...

Ok, I now have pretty much everything working in Slack the way I want it to. The only thing is...

I cannot listen to my music.

My sound card (see sig below) is detected by Slack, and it shows up as the correct card.

I have tried to make it work by going into sound system in the control panel but it still doesnt work.

How can I get this thing running?

Run alsaconf as root, and if you're using KDE, try turning off Arts.

Go to the KDE Control Center, select Sound & Multimedia, then Sound System. Look for a checkbox by "Enable the Sound System" and uncheck it.

I just had a similar problem with Fedora Core 4 and my Audigy 2 ZS. The card was detected, I just went to alsamixer and found that the analog audio was muted. I unmuted and it works. To mute/unmute the selected channel, press M.
