| Ultra Techie | Spent about 15 minutes, got all my settings rights, got my apache server up and even got my website loaded into there. But the problem is that I cannot access my Apache server VIA the internet, I can onyl access it through lan. Apache is in port 80, I typed my ip (67.170.196.238:80), and I couldn't access it. I know there must be something in my router that I haven't configured. I own a DI-604 (dlink) router. I tried enabling the Virtual Host thing for port 80, but I must have done something wrong. Im pretty sure I have used port 80 to host another type of fileserver before and it worked, please help!

| One other thing: is it working? i just went to the IP address you have given and it is working fine. If from inside your network you enter the IP address 67.170.196.238 it will get confused and try to connect to your router. Port forwarding only forwards connections from the internet and not internal connections. To check it is working really you need to be using a computer outside of your network. - right now it is working. |

| Ultra Techie | Ahh, I got it working last night. The problem was that my router only supported port forwarding for one computer only. So basically I had to swith port forwarding for port 80 to my laptop. It's working fine right now. Thanks for the help! Another question concerning Apache is, how do I set it up so I can upload files to it from a different place? Do I have to setup a FTP? If so, is there any guide for me to set it up?
