I cannot get my 6800 GT to be recognized by SuSE . It says I have a VESA Framebuffer graphics card, and not my 6800 GT.

??

Also, I used YOU to update the nVIDIA drivers, but that didnt seem to do anything.

download the nvidia driver
log out of X
log in as root
run installer program
edit x config file following directions provided by nvidia file
restart X

if the distro your using doesnt have a compiler and the kernel header files it wont work, I think you need the X development package too
