| Re: want to learn all i can about pc but were i start? Start with an A+ cert book, then a Net+, then move up to whatever Microsoft and Cisco certs interest you. Studying for the certs will give you a vast knowledge of computers. SOme of it is so boring it makes watching pait dry seem fun, but it is very usefull info to have. And the certs look good on the resume. More framed paper on your wall means more benjamins in your wallet.

| Re: want to learn all i can about pc but were i start? Also just read up on tech news sites. Books aren't really a primary source, because they get outdated much too quickly. Just try to lurk around the forums and post in various discussions to get more of a feel for things. That's about all that I've done, and in the last few years, my knowledge of things had grown quite a bit.

| That's only true for books that have a narrow focus on a specific technology. The fundamentals have been around for a long time. |

They think wiki is evil, because anybody can go in and edit it...I, and other numerous other students have told 'em that it flags the system tho, and people go and check it out to see what was edited. | True, but I meant more like the general-use ones. And sometimes the books on specific technologies (processors could be considered one) can become outdated, as newer technology is updated.
