Default Tech + Business Question.

Was wondering what college classes do they have for business classes related to computers.

My goal is to run a Computer Repair Shop and later on a center.

Is there like a Ebusiness class or something?

How exactly does one learn business with computers?

Thanks.

major in business, minor in computer science. focus on the business, because if your a good tech and an outstanding business man, then you can build your business up and then hire people who are better then you at the tech aspect and move on from there.

Yeah but does that teach you all the necessities to survive in the "Technology World"? I was wondering because I'm looking into going repair shop/entrepreneur

Will I need to take a marketing class to?

if you major in business then a marketing class will be included in that I'm sure. and my point is if you spend a lot of time around computers, and hire people that are 100% tech, then you don't need to know the odds and ends of the tech world. For you to be a business owner you need to know how to deal with people and run a business, not fix pc's. You can certainly pull yourself back from full time manager to working in the shop and fixing stuff, but that will be your second priority.

I am opening up a computer repair shop where I live. I know just enough about computers to sell service, but I am very good at marketing and sales. Take Peter's advice, owning a business is all about management and very little about the work that will be done.

i have a little "buisness" u could call it going on where i live. there are about 125 people that live in my little town that have computers and i basically do what a futureshop geek squad guy would do. build comps, upgrade, fix, ect and im doing fairly well, im in no way getting rich but its a living. but since there isn't that much demand i go weeks without a job some times. so just make sure your in a good area.
