Default Psychology major; usefulness of tech certs / occupations

As the subject suggests, I am a psy student (although I'm still considering the idea of double-majoring, either with business or compsci.) Currently, the plan is either something mostly medical (more and more people make it to med school on social science degrees) or possibly grad school for something more psy-oriented. And blah blah blah, to the questions:

If you have a psychology degree, how did things work out for you after graduation?

Would there be any "significant" point to getting a cert or two? Compsci, while an option, is certainly not a guarantee; however, it is also not a sure thing that I won't go into something in technology. I personally would like to hold a certification or two just because I'm so involved with computers/something I would like to do - A+, Sec+, perhaps a third - but that requires several hundreds, and I don't know just how useful it would be, considering I'm not terribly set on career paths. Can't hurt, of course, but ... how much can it help?

Any words of wisdom?
