Hello,

Its good to be back in forums... I need help in getting a CCNA certifcation. That is my main goal right now, I am almost done with my associates for computer sciences, but I want to go into Cisco. So, I need to know what did you guys use to study and pass CCNA, I would like to know the book titles or the programs or practice test you used so I can pass as well and finally make a good living or atleast get a better job. Please help

Take a CCNA class, buy whatever book the class instructor recommends, you will get hands on experience which is the most important part because you will be doing some simulated hands on in the CCNA exam. It's not that easy now to pass the CCNA now, Cisco is making it tougher, before it was a joke but now it's actually worth trying to get. I failed the first time by 50 points off because I wasn't prepare or focus much on the labs, since I had over 3 years of network experience I pretty much ace it the second time by using NetVisualizer.

If you can't afford to buy hardware to practice on, I recommend NetVisualizer from RouterSim.

Yes I passed using the NetSim software, but I also took classes at a junior college. I can't get a job with just CCNA certification, so I feel I wasted my time and money.

Now hold up friend. I just met a guy this year that did a full year at a junior college here in CA before obtaining his CCNA and got a job with a company's network team. Because he spent eight hours a day dedicated to learning Cisco (when he wasn't in class he was in the lab), he became pretty darn good. They made him the Cisco guy at his company and he's respected there now. They have something like 80 remote locations! He got a raise and is working his CCNP. You need more than a piece of paper to do that in just a year from being hired.

You will never get a job on one Certification, Experience is the main ingrediant and it helps if you have a BS or MS in something.

There will come a day, such a day when all will be told more than they wish to know, what one hears may explain the past, it may explain the future, but it has never made a difference either way and it will change nothing. Some day.... But that is not this day, and I don't know when, I just don't know.
