| This may be off topic, but I live in a city with little or no opportunity in IT. I'm also not very attached to that city other than the fact that my parents live here. I'm looking for a city that has warmer winters(almost anything is warmer than MN), has a job market(Moorhead does not), has a friendly community and is somewhat affordable. Any suggestions?

| Heyyo, Hmm, ok, the rent can be painful, but Vancouver City's pretty good. I know there's a chip manufacturing company there. There's lots of comp shops, most are owned by vietnamese and chinese, and usually only like to hire within the same ethnic group.. but there's always other places like staples n' futureshop and some white comp shops exist too. If you're looking for a more corporate "network administator" scene, then I'm sure there's lots of big businesses in vancouver that might be hiring that way. It gets pretty cold, but it's liveable. Btw, I know Las Vegas is also pretty good for network admin positions, and there's a few comp shops down there too. It's easily warmer than MN. ![]()
