Default WTB: Middle of the Road, Sorta High End Laptop

Hey all,

I'm looking to find a decent laptop. I have a good desktop, so the laptop doesn't need to be amazing, but i would like it to perform what i need it to do.

I've looked on EBay for some, and i want to see if you guys have any or if you know of somewhere i can get one.

Let me know.

Thanks!

hmmm.. i guess i could have included that lol. I dont wanna spend any more than around $800. I would be using it for everyday activities, taking it to college, and possibly light gaming. I have XP, Vista and Office, so i dont need any of that.

Thanks.

I have a Dell Inspiron 9200 (going on 2 years old in march) that I'm looking to sell soon.

I'm sending it in to dell to get a full diagnostics check so that it's working perfect when I sell it. Here's the specs:

Pentium M processor 1.6Ghz

1.25GB PC2700(?) I took out one of the origional 256's and put in a gig so now it has a 1gb and a 256mb (another 1gb stick is about $100)

60Gb HD

ATI Mobility Radeon 9700 - 128mb graphics card

17" 1440x900 display

Windows XP Home Edition

4 USB ports, Ethernet, Dial-up, headphone, mic, and I think 1 firewire (i can check on that)

CD/DVD combo drive (DVD player, CD burner) but I can throw in an external USB Dual Layer DVD/CD burner combo for $50 (cost me $80)

Battery is the lesser one (standard one) and lasts about 3 hours with a movie in.

full warrenty until March or May '08 (can be extended after that)

Targus 17" laptop carrying case

I'm looking to sell it for around $700 (780 with the external DVD/RW) USD.

I still haven't gotten around to ebaying my old laptop. Specs:

Gateway 7405gx
Athlon 64m 3200+
512mb ram (1.25gb max)
80gb hd
64mb Radeon 9600 video (dedicated)
dvd burner
15.4" screen
Windows XP Home
In great condition and comes with working battery+power adapter. A little bulkier than some laptops (weighs maybe 7.5 lbs) but gets about 2 hours of battery life andt he screen is excellent. Plays games okay. High end stuff like Oblivion runs okay on low settings, most "mainstream" titles ran with no problems on medium to high settings.
price: $500 shipped

HP Pavilion ZE5170 (Desktop Replacement Notebook / Laptop)

(more pics)

Add $35 for a Buffalo AirStation Turbo G (802.11g/b) wireless card

The battery is dead, so you can knock $50 off the price in the pics. I was planning on putting it up on eBay or Craigslist for $350 once I get a replacement battery.

So I'm asking $300 + shipping.
