Default Opteron 165 $125

Opteron 165 $125
Selling my Opteron 165.

I've had it up towards 2.85 before, but hit that 'wall' that everyone is probably familiar with. 2.8ghz was a daily overclock that I get out of it.

CPU-Z Validator Database

Running that speed, it is set at 1.36v, so no extra cooling is needed. Stock fans keep this thing idling around 40*c in my hot room (~80*F).

I am selling for $125 shipped to the continental U.S. for this proven clock. I know what one costs new, and it's only $5 more, but I know this one clocks, and that's worth something, especially at such a ridiculously low voltage.

I don't remember the stepping, but it's the 16th week of 2006.

PM me with any questions, or superpi times, etc.

Ryan

If someone decides they want the motherboard/cpu/ram combo too, let me know. It's in my sig, but I'll list it also.

I have the DFI Lanparty SLI-DR board, socket 939. This board rocks for overclocking.

The ram is 2x1gb G.Skill DDR400 that I can clock to 237mhz (474mhz effective).

The whole kit and kaboodle would be $325. Great performing system that can compete with an E6600 intel setup.

currently have a Scythe ninja, but thanks for the offer.

Krazie, I'll take it apart tomorrow and get you the stepping.

At this point, I don't want to sell this stuff unless the board, cpu, and ram all go out the door. If I get offers on all 3 pieces, I'm happy to part to different people.

CPU - $115 shipped
Motherboard - $110 shipped (includes Thermalright HR-05 SLi
Ram - $100 shipped

Whole kit and kaboodle, $325 shipped.

Like I said, I'll get back to you with the stepping if you think it's important. I mean, I already found the overclock ceiling on it.

If somebody takes the whole kit, I'll throw in an NEC dual layer dvd burner. It has a beige faceplate.

like I said... if buyers are lined up and I have people committed, I'll part out. Otherwise, no deal. It's my main computer and I don't want pieces of it laying around useless.
