| Re: Looking for donated upgrade parts (LGA775 - DDR2) It's because of supply/demand mostly. Also the manufacturers had loads in stock and now they don't.

| Re: Looking for donated upgrade parts (LGA775 - DDR2) the transition to DDR3 is driving prices of DDR2 up and DDR3 down. like what happened with DDR ram when DDR2 came out.
hence why i jumped on the DDR3 bandwagon early |

| Re: Looking for donated upgrade parts (LGA775 - DDR2) The situation has not changed. Everything is still in limbo. Got a mobo, 2GB, and GFX card. I'm currently running the GFX card and the rest is sitting on/beside my desk. It's a sad, sad situation. |

| Re: Looking for donated upgrade parts (LGA775 - DDR2) Just to let you know, I haven't forgot about this, I'm just trying to locate some new ram. At the moment, everything is just way out of budget, as I'm sure you know how that goes. Is there anything else you know that you need, other than the processor, and possibly more ram? What board did you end up getting?
As we were thinking about getting a motherboard fund going, we could possibly start a processor fund. I wouldn't be able to pitch in a lot of money, but it could possibly get you a processor faster. Has Poizen said anything about the processor that he had?

| Re: Looking for donated upgrade parts (LGA775 - DDR2) No sweat, mate. I'm in no big hurry and I completely understand the finances part.
I ended up with an ASUS P5Q Pro and a single stick of 2GB DDR2 800. All I lack is a CPU, but more RAM is always welcome. If I end up with an odd stick I can drop it into my mother-in-law's computer. |
