| Re: FS: Creative X-FI Xtreme Music so...is this it? Newegg.com - Creative Sound Blaster X-Fi Xtreme Audio VARPAK 7.1 Channels 24-bit 96KHz PCI Express Interface Sound Card - OEM
I'm actually in the market for a big upgrade in the sound card department (for home music recording purposes). Would this be worth looking into or do you think I should look at some more expensive cards?

| Re: FS: Creative X-FI Xtreme Music I think they're going to stop making them
Basically, it's Creative's way of trying to be really cheap on the low-end versions, and make you pay more for the high-end versions - even though what they have now (like the XtremeMusic) are almost as capable as the high-end ones.
In other words, Creative is trying to make more money.

| Re: FS: Creative X-FI Xtreme Music Well this is what I came up with when I owned it.
I'm sure you are aware it is excellent for gaming. It's rediculus how well you can hear foot steps in say Counter-Strike: Source. For example, If I was camping long hall, I can hear the windows break in front office by the ladder, and if I'm by the vending machines I can hear them come up back window staires.
Battlefield 2 sounds aboslutley amazing as well.
Music. Well Music was great. If you are an audiophile, then this card is not for you. If you are really really into music, like very touchy, check out some of M-audios stuff. But I found it to sound fantastic, on my Z-5500's, and my Icemat Siberia headphones.
I'm not sure if you know but there are 3 options, Audio Creation mode, Entertainment mode, and Gaming Mode.
Gaming mode: As the title is stated, Enables EAX, 24 bit crystalizer, and other stuff such as CMSS-3D, and other features.
Entertainment mode: For DVDs, Mpegs, MP3, all the movie and music stuff. You will notice the difference, as listing to music in Game mode sounds terrible, but Gaming in entertainment mode is terrible. Lol.
Audio Creation Mode: This is like the title says, for creating Audio. I never really used this as I'm not the music maker type, but yeah. Lots of stuff to do in there.
Overall It's a great soundcard. I have loved it but I need the money and will be stepping down to a lower end soundcard.
Hope I helped, any more questions feel free to ask. Pictures upon request, Price is Negotiable.
