maybe for a little 1024x768 action... lol. 256? The memory bus is already crippling, but that much memory has got to ache on games with heavy textures.

I thought that gpu memory only effects how your games run at higher resoultions?

but its nice for a budget build i guess, id go for the 512 mb

You got it wrong man, it actually performs the same as the 512 up to 1680x1024, and only slows down a few frames when higher.

Well he has to be right at SOME point but I don't think most games have enough texture detail for it to matter. If they do the game is probably designed badly for performance.

I need one. I ordered one on newegg the total was like $230 with tax and shipping, but i had to cancel my order lol because i needed to save my money for a road trip i"m planning in 2 weeks. I've really been getting into crysis too, but right now I'm playing at low settings on 1024x768. So hopefully with this card I'll see major improvements.

Dude, I've seen it perform worse than the 512MB version even under 1280x1024, particularly in Crysis. 256MB is pretty low and just can't handle high-res textures, let alone higher screen resolutions. For the $30-$50 more you can pay for a 512MB, the 256MB version is not worth it IMO.

Sorry, bud. I don't buy it. Maybe on some games from 2004 and 2005, but this is 2007. Textures have increased and that card will not cut the mustard on the modern stuff and anything to come in 2008.
