ADSL for me (576k connection)

Umh, Placebo, I use Optimum Online Internet access with a motorala cable modem plugged into the wall and my connection is consistently running at about 7000 Kbps (sometimes higher sometimes lower). I've seen it peak at about 8000 Kbps, but on any normal day it'll run on about 7000 Kbps, give or take. If I'm not mistaken thats more then 12x as fast as your connection on an internet connection which you remarked as pathetic in your post (view above).

7000/576=12.152777.......

I don't know if internet connections are different where you are, but as far as I see it that definately takes high speed cable connections off the list of pathetic, since I'm on a cable connection and I have a faster connection.

uuhhmmmm....ooops, my conection speed got zapped out. i think cuz it had a partial isp address.
anyways it's 4 down and 512 up

**recently edited cuz my isp increased their speeds.**

right now...i have probably the slowest connection of anybody on this forum. Cable and DSL are not available in my area. The phone lines are still pulse based and I am lucky if I can even get a 26.4kbps connection. Most of the time i am at 24.4, at busy times i can be as low as 19.2 or 14.4. Here in a few weeks, I am getting a wireless cable modem that ranges from 2-6Mbps both ways. I would already have it, but I had a family vacation i had to attend..lol. I'm greatly looking forward to getting my broadband, but until then, i have to deal with download speeds in the hundreds of bytes while y'all enjoy as much as 500KB per second download speeds.
