Default What would be my best cpu?

What cpu should I get... these are all within my price range, and keep in mind I plan on doing no overclocking, so which one would offer the most gaming performance without overclocking?

*Pentium 4 Presscott 3.2 ghz socket 775

Pentium D.

Its supposed to be a good alternative to an AMD athlon.

But if your mobo supports only AMD, for for the Athlon 3700

why isn't there an Athlon 64 X2 3800+?

anyway, out of those, it would either be the Athlon 64 3700+ for mainly gaming, or the Pentium D for math/multitasking (though the X2 3800+ is better than the Pentium D)

The people who voted for 3700+ are AMD fanboys. There is no way for 3700+ to be better than Pentium D.

The Pentium D is dual core processor, so it is much better for multitasking and multi-threaded applications. Most of todays games are multi-threaded, so the Pentium D should match or even beat 3700+ in new and future games.
