I have AVG 8 on all my servers and a few desktops at work, and here at home and luckily wasn't affected by this.

I wouldn't expect you would have. Again these seem like isolated incidents and not any real problem being seen with any actual AVG updates. It sounds more like some people goofed up on their own or someone wants to create a panic where there is none to begin with instead of fact finding.

I dumped Avast after running that for a period of time and went back to AVG some time back. Other then seeing these so-called alarms AVG 8.0 is the best build Grisoft has come out with seeing spyware and adware detection removal increased with the updated version of Ewido added into it.
