Keyboards have limited space and offer only a certain number of accents that can be typed normally. Those are normally the accents that are used in the country where that
keyboard has been sold, all other accents however are not that easily accessible and users have to use
keyboard shortcuts to write down those letters.
Accents however offers an easier faster way. Have you ever used your mobile
phone to type a SMS or note ? You might know then that all the keys of your
mobile phone have more than one letter assigned to it which can be selected by pressing the same key a number of times.
The same method is being used by Accents to provide access to accents that are not printed on the keyboard. Just press a key more than once to flip through the available accents. There are for example five accents for the a key which can be accessed by pressing the a key 2-6 times. They are å,ä,â,à and á. Similar accents are accessible when pressing the e,i,o,u and y keys.
It does not stop here however. Users can add accents to the
software with ease to make it fit their special needs. The ini file is a simply text document that can be edited like any other text document. You find additional information about editing the Accents settings at the
Donation Coder forum.
