Power Off is a freeware for
Microsoft Windows that makes it easy to control the power state - that is on, off, standby and so on - on a local or remote
computer. You could for instance configure it to set a certain power state when a process ends or scheduled for a day or time.
And this is where it begins to be interesting. It is for instance possible to use Power Off to schedule work times for your children’s
PC. If you do not want them to play or work with it after 6 pm you could simply configure Power Off to shutdown the PC at that time.
I can think of several uses for running it on local
computers as well. You might want to run defrag during the day which takes some time if you got big defragmented
hard drives. It would be possible to use Power Off to turn off the computer after defrag finished the defragmentation of the hard drives.
