Wise to buy a new PS2 or not?

Will new games be released for the PS2 even when PS3 is released? I will not be able to afford a new PS3 when it is released. Will it be foolish to buy a new Ps2 with all the big console brands releasing newer models?

foolish? i wouldn't think so. you could probably wait until closer to the ps3 launch date as i'm sure they will be dropping the price on the ps2 sooner or later.

i have a 360 and sold my ps2 and all of my games with it on eBay a pretty good while ago. i was thinking about picking up a ps2 again sometime but like i said i'll probably with until the ps3 has launched.

Well, God of War 2 is coming out and I think 1-2 more that are escaping me right now. But you can do what I am going t o do, buy mass amounts of used ps2 games at ebgames until you are ready for the next generation.

i feel even when the ps3 will be released the ps2 is such an established console with excellent graphics and game platforms..that it will remain on the market for many years playstation 2 is one console which will never go old.

my advic is when u want something go for it...becuz through past experiences when i did not go for it..then i regreted it after.

but im happy with my ps2 for now and they will keep making games for it once the ps3 is released. possibly a few less but there'll still be plenty coming out.

excellent graphics??? I would say they are pretty dated.
