V9 and knife trick

Hi i've herd somwhare that the v9 ps2 doesn't have the pin is this true? if so is there any way to get around this?

I have a silver v9 (pal) PS2. And my sister has a black v9 PS2.
Both of us use the 'SWAP MAGIC 3 DISCS' with the slide tool.
So who ever said they did'nt work is full of it.
There is just no screw on the tray to remove.
You just bend the corner being careful not to break it, and just removing the front panel.
