| Teh Cell -GT5 also uses Ray-traced lighting which gives the game its realistic and natural look.
The PS3 is the only gaming system to produce ray-tracing thanks to the Cell chip.
-GT5 utilizes the Cell B.E. Processor, which has better, faster, more powerful, and more physics calculations per second than PCs and of course Xbox 360.
-Mitsubishi used GT5 Prologue for people to test the new EvoX's S-AWC(super-all wheel drive control) at NAIAS.
Is this true? How fast is this cell? I knew it was fast, but I always thought high end gaming pcs had faster processors, even if the cell has 8 cores. I mean, only one is a true core, right?
I guess I'll add this: Gran Turismo 5 Prologue | Veoh Video Network
It^ is quite good, so I could see this being true.

| Re: Teh Cell This was known a long time ago. A big debate for the time before and after the release of the PS3. The Cell CPU was being used and could produce a insane amount of processing power. The Cell CPU is assumed to running at 3.2 GHz, the clock speed most often cited.
At this clock frequency each channel flows at a rate of 25.6 GB/s.
From Wikipedia.
Yes it has only 1 true core. But it does something like 218GF (GiagFlop) of processing or something like that. The 360 can do 115GF of processing power. So the Cell is about 100GF higher. TG Daily - Update: How many FLOPS are in game consoles?

| Re: Teh Cell $30... if that. The Cell processor isn't the star of the PS3. It's estimated that it costs about $0.16 per gigaflop now. The GPU is the claimed 2 teraflop processing beast. No one has really backed those claims up yet but it is known that the PS3's GPU extremely powerful for consoles and PCs. |

| Re: Teh Cell only the 7800 gt was 20 pixel pipelines.. both 7800gtx's (256 and 512mb) had 24 pixel pipelines
but i'm 100 percent sure they based it on the 7900 gt due to its smaller die |
