Default PSP vs ipod

i was thinking about getting an ipod for christmas, they are about $200, and i thought well heck, the PSP is only $50 more.

But how are the memory sticks for the PSP? if i got a PSP and a memory stick how much music could i hold? i figure if i can transport the music as data files quite a bit. Also since you can hack an OS what else does it enable me to do? can i throw an emulator on there? video files? i dont know too much about the PSP so i thought id be able to learn a bit form you guys.

Bear in mind that the PSP itself is only $50 more, but if you were going to get an iPod, you obviously have a lot of songs you would like to put on, you are going to have to get at least a 1GB memory card which is pretty expensive.

it depends whether u want music or games. of course the psp offers more but the iPod is the way to go if ur primary use for it is music. of course you CAN listen to music on the psp but its just not the same

Do you have a psp? I ask because I am planning to get one, and then sell my iPod mini, but if the quality and music experience is not the same, I would rather keep my iPod and put in a little extra money for a psp.

The music is pretty much the same, granted, you have to buy memory sticks(1gb or 2) as there is not hdd in the psp. Now, the psp has games, pictures, music(music videos) and internet. So it really depends how your going to use it. I have one, and i am thinking about getting a ipod nano, just becuase i use my psp for downloading movies, and gameing.
