Default PSP USB Connection

Thanks a lot in advance to anyone who can solve this problem for me. It's been posted so many times on different gaming forums and no one seems to be able to find an answer. And I'm not the only one having this problem BTW.

OK, whenever I connect my PSP to my PC via USB cable, it always says "Device not recognized" or something similar (I just can't remember the exact words) in the System Tray. There's nothing wrong with the cable, because I've used it with other computers and it worked fine. Can anyone help? I've also tried every port and unplugging all my other USB devices.
