anyway, i thought the latest firmware made it uncrackable, and trying so would only insta-brick your psp

| u have to mod it to play iso off memory stick. modding is basically downgrading the psp to like 1.0 or 1.5 and then install custom firmware on top of it like 3.40 OE which u can upgrade it to 3.52 m33 then to 3.71 m33 then to 3.91 m33 (if u want skype and all that) to keep up with newer game releases. pspiso.com will answer everything u want to know. thats how it is with fat psp. but if u brick it u need a pandora battery to unbrick it and go back down to 1.5 andmodd it again. i suggest u just pay somebody like 10$ to mod it too 3.71 m33 or 3.91 m33 for you instead of risking a brick. u can intall updates later by urself its really easy. thats what i did. but if u want pspiso or google for instrucitons will get u the instructions on how to do it. or try youtube. now if u have a psp slim, i think itz a lot more complicated, just get somebody to mod it for you to the 3.60 OE something because u need a pandora battery for the modding too. since a battery is like 30$ just get it modded from ppl on craiglist with gurantee for like 20$. and pspiso have all the games for download. hope this helps. |

| I consider myself pretty knowledgeable about the custom PSP area. What you'll need to do is find a way to put custom firmware on your PSP. There are two methods of doing this: 1. If you have a sufficiently old enough firmware on your PSP (I think 2.8 and lower?) You can use an 'old' method of downgrading and installing custom firmware. 2. If you have newer firmware, or any firmware found on the PSP Slim, your only option is to use a Service Mode (Pandora) battery to install custom firmware on your PSP. A service mode battery can only be made by someone that already has custom firmware, so you'll need to have connections to a "psp-cool" buddy. There is an extremely low risk of bricking your PSP if everything is done right. If you use that service mode battery, then the risk is even lower, since the battery is capable of fixing the majority of bricked PSP's. Fat PSP's that have been bricked, I think, are fixable 100% of the time as long as the hardware isn't damaged. Slim PSP's can still be permanently bricked... If you lived in the Utah area, I'd love to help...
