ps3 video/sound outputs

I dont have a playstation 3 yet but I plan on buying one soon.

I could use any optical or hdmi cable i could get my hands on right and it would work correctly? Unlike component cables which have to have that special playstation 3 connecter on one end.

If i buy the component cables to hook video to my tv, I could use an optical cable to get sound right?

Edit: Also do the 40gb ver come with dualshock3 controller standard?

Mine also came with Spiderman 3 on Blu-Ray. It does not come with anything but Composite cables (so you need to pick up an HDMI or component cables too).

My 40 gig came with the bland sixaxis controller... I got 2 Dual Shock 3's for it as accessories.

Dont bother buying the Dear HDMI Cables i bought mine Cheap and it Still works Great
