Starting September you will be able to get a PS3 Slim for $299. Starting tomorrow all current 80GB models will be sold for $299 to clear out inventory.

Just saw this on the GamesCom press conference! I will likely be buying a PS3 Slim sometime in the future and selling my stand alone BD player

That's good for the people that don't have one yet. I got my 80GB after the initial price drop for $500. At least I have backward compatibility.

And as far as I know the European price is 299 Euro and £249.

Yeh, confirmed £249 now. So we get a £25 price drop and the rest of the world gets a 100euro price drop..that makes sense

I'm glad I have mine already. I don't like the new one. I think the pressure sensitive buttons are cooler than actual buttons. I have 4 usb ports instead of two, and I have the useless SD card slots. The shape looks weird and it looks cheaper with that different plastic on it. They were actually impressed with it, lol.

Veedub, go get one now before the slim is all that is left.
