PS3 1080i on a 19"

Is it possiable to view 1080i from a PS3 on a pc monitor (19") which only has a max res as 1280 x 1024?

Also if I ran 720p on the same monitor would I get a black window look across the top and bottom or will it be scaled up?

well that would be pretty hard to do since reports were coming out yesterday that PS3's weren't running in 1080i like they are suppossed to......

Yah, wasn't it running 1080i as 480P? Yikes.
