Ps2 Warranty?

I just bought a new slim ps2, and on my friends there is a warranty sticker on the back. However mine doesnt appear to have one, so what's the deal with that. I dont want to be screwed out of warranty or anything.

This means that it has either has been tampered with inside or if you have bought this console brand new and the warranty label isnt on the back of the console take it back to the shop and tell them.
