PS2 boot backups

I have a PS2 version 39001 and a Game Shark2 version 3. Can I boot backups with just a game shark or do I have to get a mod chip??

Your console must have a mod-chip to play backups. (unless you want to use some cheesy knife trick, but I won't even get into that)

I would recommend just getting a modchip for your ps2 if you want to actually play backups. Depending on which modchip you get, you won't even need to swap with the gameshark.

Save yourself the time and breaking your PS2s drive motor. Buy a Flip-Top+Swap Magic 3.0 when it comes out in 2-4 weeks.
