| System Builder/NZXT Deals | Gears had the most realistic facial features and lip syncing as well. But I agree, I am not playing Metal Gear for it's graphics. I actually haven't even played a MG game since Metal Gear Solid 2. Gears of War graphics (facial): http://gaygamer.net/images/marcus_fenix2.jpg Metal Gear 4 graphics (facial): http://www.myextralife.com/wp-conten...ar_solid_4.jpg Gears of War graphics (terrain): http://www.dignews.com/admin/screens..._of_war_14.jpg Metal Gear 4 graphics (terrain): http://ps3media.ign.com/ps3/image/ar...038919-000.jpg I think the graphical winner here is clear.

| Monster Techie | I disagree, the first picture you used was a very early shot of the game -- it has changed much. Also, putting a shiny coat and bump mapping on objects will make it look much more graphically dense, but not really as realistic. By the way, nice terrain picture that just shows a box -- we all know thats all that MGS4 has to offer in the terrain department. Concerning the lip syncing, it was matched for the Japanese dialogue -- not English.

| System Builder/NZXT Deals | Lol, well from the first few hours of MGS4, all the terrain there was were concrete walls, flat glass/sand floors and boxes. More Metal Gear 4 terrain and character shots: http://www.bdgamers.net/wp-content/u...-solid-4-1.jpg http://www.bdgamers.net/wp-content/u...-solid-4-3.jpg http://twobrothersandasister.com/wp-...mgs4/02/15.jpg http://www.greatwallofgaming.com/wp-...r-online-4.jpg http://www.gamershell.com/static/scr...65321_full.jpg http://i.cdn.turner.com/gametap/web3...7_17_a45c0.jpg All show what I was referencing: a flat/poorly textured ground, walls, etc. and the characters have an almost cartoonish 3D anime look. And the shot I used was a screen shot of the final product. I play the game and it is clear that MGS4 has this almost "plastic" look to a lot of its textures. There are some things that look realistic, but really most of the game is only comparable to Call of Duty 4 as far as graphics are concerned. I don't think it matters what process they used to make the graphics appear so good, but it is undeniable that the Gears of War Xbox 360 graphics are superior to MGS4. You really can not argue it and tell me Metal Gear is realistic when the faces are perfectly smooth, metal looks flat/plastic like, the faces appear to be almost plastic as well, the ground, objects are flat with the image attempting to make it look more 3D, and his regular armor camo looks too glossy and very unrealistic. I am not just basing these statements from pictures on the web, but by actually seeing both games in 720p on my TV at home. It is just plain undeniable logic. Now don't get me wrong, I am by no means bashing the PS3, or the game itself because I think it is a very fun game... I know it is very difficult to program for the PS3, but by now and with all that blu-ray disc space, they should be coming with much more realistic graphics than this.

| i got to agree with you surgeVel but the thing is your based your points on what appears just graphical options personally i liked the graphics in this game, sure there lacking in areas but to be honest there's a lot more to a game then graphics take gears of war for example, first time i played that i completed the thing in 5 and a bit hours flat sure it was on easy but i played mgs4 on easy and i just completed in in 12 hours the difference being the story, the game play and all the little things that got put into it, i've had 12 hours of play on this already and haven't even been online with it yet as for the cut scenes yeah theres a lot but look at a game like soul reaver 2 (ps2, i think i spelt it wrong) now that had LOADS of cut scenes

| NvIdiot | i didnt play the game myself.. but i watched my friend play through the whole thing.. and i've got to say.. wow, this game amazes me.. character models are top notch.. probably the best i've ever seen... some wall details were kind of lamed out... but who cares.... i'm not starring at walls all day anyway the story for this game was incredible... so many twists... and about the game to video ratio... all metal gear solids have been that way... a crapload of cutscenes... hideo kojima made the game to be like a movie masterpiece... and thats exactly what he did... i don't think there are any games on this planet that can compare to the story line of mgs... NONE

The MGS Database that was released only makes things worse.

| NvIdiot | ya.. that was a big thing i noticed too... plenty of... lets take out the big guns and just shoot things!! i didnt much like that either... it seems as they almost encourage run and gun by enabling the *buy ammo from anywhere* feature

But it just comes down to my personal taste in games, and this game really didn't fit at all compared to the other ones. I felt that Kojima really let down the core fans that made MGS as popular as it is now by the gameplay and the actual story.
