Default internet password?

I bought a used wii and the person from whom i bought it from did not give me the pass word to get on the internet. is there a way to reset this or what are my options?

well, I bought it on craigslist and I wasn't even aware that i needed a password.
So, by the tie I realized that I needed a PW it was probably a month later and i no longer had his contact info.

I searched around a bit - most people say you have to just call Nintendo and they'll give you a master password.

Not really . There is usually a restore to default setting, atleast there is on 360 and PS3. Gives you a chance to totally go through initial setup again and set stuff up just how you like it.
