| Ok, so here is the situation. I own a NEC MultiSync 90GX 19 inch LCD and I have a decent gaming comp. However, Im looking to get into consoles more (PCs cost too much $$ to keep up with) and after a looooong period of diliberation, I decided I cant live with bad graphics and as such, the wii is out of the picture (though I will get one eventually). PS3... too expensive. Anyways, I do not own a HDTV and so I was hoping to play on my LCD. Questions are: 1. Will it work? 2. Will I see a hit in quality? 3. Are all Xbox games able to run in 1280x1024 res? 4. What would I need to do this? 5. Would you suggest this? Thanks for your help my previously despised console addicts ![]() |

| You'll need the HD/AV Vga cables.

| If you decide to go with the VGA adapter, post and let us know how it worked out. I use the 360 on our 44"DLP HDTV and it looks amazing. However, sometimes the wife wants to watch a show and I want to play Xbox. In the past with my original Xbox, I would just move it to a TV in another room and play. But once you go HD, you don't want to play on anything less. I dont have another HDTV in the house, but I do have a nice 17" widescreen LCD monitor that would be perfect. I am just wondering how it will look with the VGA adapter. |

| Super Techie | The 360 auto-optimizes whatever connection you use to the best resolution it can. I'm wondering also when I open mine finally during Xmas if I can hook it up to not only our 42" HDTV LCD, but also my 21" LCD widescreen PC monitor I have. Be sweet to hook it up in my room too on my PC monitor, then again, my monitor has HD built-in already so it should look crystal clear I hope. I figure even with regular settings on an LCD, the resolution and stuff of the monitor would be better than a standard TV anyways, so it should still look pretty darn good regardless. I mean ****, regular xbox looks awesome o standard TV to me still. I'm sure when I start using my 360 though I won't be advocating that same quote at all however lol.

| I use this very LCD monitor I'm using right now for my Xbox 360. It's great because i don't sit too far away from it when I'm playing as my monitor is only 15" (small bedroom too) so the size isn't an issue. Anyway, i use a Joytech Xbox 360 VGA cable to input the signal into my monitor (It's the same as plugging the VGA cable from the computer into the monitor). 15" monitors have a 1024x768 resolution, and in the settings of the 360 you can choose that as your resolution. If you're interested in HD (like i am) and you cannot afford to buy a brand new HD TV, then it is definitely worth getting an Xbox 360 VGA cable whether it's the official one or the Joytech one, it doesn't really matter, you will still get a fantastic picture on all the games you play. So, to answer all your questions: 1. It WILL work (if your monitor has a VGA input at the back) if not then you can get a gender changer for the VGA cable to sort that out. 2. You WILL see a hit in quality. The VGA cable produces the best picture available for the Xbox 360, no matter what resolution. 3. All Xbox games can play on a 1024x768 resolution, so you don't need to worry about some of your 360 games not working. 4. As i said, an Xbox 360 VGA Cable 5. I would highly suggest this. Athlon.
