Oh and a tip that came to me while doing all this after it was fixed:
Be careful were you buy your Xbox from, a lot of em on Ebay apparently have had DVD drive changes and thus COULD get you banned from live status, try to get ones that still have a sticker from Microsoft (indicating is has not been opened and could be under warranty still) under the face plate. Always ask your seller detailed questions so you don't end up fixing it, getting online, and then getting your Live account banned from someone else's mistake.
