Default wired usb xbox 360 controller compatible with pc.

My friend told me this and also said "mad people are like some buttons dont work when they use it on their comp but they all work fine on their 360". Any ideas?

Only 1 button doesnt work on the computer, and thats the 360's guide button. I have one and it works great for racing games.

Can someone expand on this and tell me if you have to buy the one packed at "XBOX 360 Controller for windows" or can you just buy a normal "Xbox360 Controller" and download the drivers?
