I need help with Xbox live

I'm getting high speed finally come january 11th and i will have my xbox live account set up within the day or week. I just dont know how do get the cable to my computer and to my xbox at the same time? someone please help me out here. thanks

You can get a router. Modem plugs into router, then router to PC and router to Xbox.

Just make sure the cable company knows about it though, because I know that my cable company has to register the MAC address of the device that's connected to the modem.
