It's not really that bad, there's just nothing new. Except the Firefight mode, which is awesome, and the H3 multiplayer packs which is also really fun. Campaign, which I haven't played myself yet, is apparantly terrible though.

Well i have to kinda agree with CAD. It is a NEW game. So it should have something NEW to offer. A new Mode is not enough to warrant $60 for the game IMHO. I will do what i have been doing, wait till the price drops.

True, american pricing is a little much; it's priced as an expansion pack over here so it's relatively cheap.

it's not terrible but not great. The night time levels add something interesting but These are the main problems I found(playing it on heroic).

1) It felt too easy, I swear either ODST "rookie" has a health buff compared to MC or weapons do less, because I felt I could take more damage before my "stamina"(shield) went down and my health started getting affected, then it takes for your shield to go in Halo 3. Also health packs were very common and found in pairs often, so it wasn't a worry. I didn't feel like I had to hide and be stealthy, any more then I had to watch out for large numbers of foes in Halo 3 on Heroic.

2) It really lacked an epic feel. Although the missions were varied and on occasion the number of enemies and vehicles was large, it didn't feel the same. Obviously the fact your not Master Chief has something to do with it but I think they could have worked on scenery, enemies, cut scenes etc to give it a more epic halo feel.

3) The characters were rather..empty. I didn't feel for any of them really, even rookie. I suppose it's because we haven't seen them before but I didn't care about the relationship between two characters(though tbh it wasn't done all that well.) and the ending was totally empt, again not helping with any epic feel or deep connection to the game.

4) I felt like some of the levels were basically copies of halo 2. Obviously they take place in the same area but (not to make too many spoilers) there's a similar bit to Halo 2 with you going across a bridge with a tank, also a similar bit to halo 2 when your in a banshee escorting a ship, it even felt like the same place(though obviously it wasn't). It could been more varied IMO.

that's the four main points. Makes it sound crap lol, meh it wasn't bad but for bungie I thought the story could have been a bit stronger, didn't have the same Halo feel for me oddly.
