| Ultra Techie | Okay I finally went through the main story line..... disappointing ending. This game really wasn't that great of a story. How can this game be getting so many 10's?

| Master Techie | ^^ just because it is the next game in the gta series. There really is no other reason. Also the die hard fans of the games would never admit that the game wasn't that great.

The engine deserves a 10 hands down, but the game... maybe a 7 if I'm feeling generous.

| To be honest aaronkupen, this game would be a 8 or 9 with normal Ragdoll. I think it's the implementation of Eurphoria that makes it so much better. However, putting the Eurphoria engine in the game isnoeasy feat, especially in a sandbox game. My friendsPC has a Quad Core Q6600 at 3.5Ghz, and if he downloads the NaturalMotion Euuphoria 2.7LE editor, his system struggles to simulate it as soon as more than 3 people are having physical interactions. And remember, there is no fancy graphics, all the computer has to process is a few very simple one shade models, and a few squares. So in GTA 4, you have an entire immenseley detailed and power hungry game, and then you shove a very CPU intensive physics animation engine in it, and you have to get it to work. Rockstar and the guys at NaturalMotion spent years perfecting and implementing it into GTA, and getting it to run well. The programming behind it and how well they got it into the game is simply extremely impressive. The level of detail in the rest of the game is staggering. You have to play it for a LONG time to notice it, but once you do. You realise just how living the city is that Rockstar created. For instance, i was walking in Alderney, someguy chucks a can out of the car and hits a police car, the cop gets out and trys to arrest the guy. Some taxi guy pulls over and disagree's with the cop, pulls out his baseball bat and starts fighting. Meanwhile the guy that chucked the rubbish speeds away, as the guy speeds away, someone across the road fixing there car see's, gets there phone out, and rings the cops. The 2 sets of cops are both disagreeing with each other trying to solve another crime, and then suddenly i get motored by one of GTA 4's lunatics. Go find another game that offers another experience like that.

| Master Techie | yes, i wouldn't want to lol. That isn't impressive. Why would the taxi driver pull out a bat and start fighting a cop? Why would the first guy chuck a can out the window in front of a cop. Why would a guy on a motorcycle run you over beside a cop.

Anyway GTA4 is the best game currently out for its engine, amazing gameplay, graphics (for this genre of game) and story. The story is pretty awesome. People plotting against you, deciding who to trust and who to listen to, choosing your own route to the end of the game and kicking ***. Its just a.w.e.s.o.m.e.

I don't deny anything you said. I've stated the engine is top notch, and those moments you talk about are interesting as well. But what I'm saying is that is really not what makes a good game. If I was actually having fun with the game and experienced those things you said -- awesome! But to me, the whole gameplay was actually less original than any of the GTA's in the past ... so when those events happened I really didn't care much about them cause I wasn't having fun. That's why I think the game is flawed at its core. They should have worked on making more creative missions, and then worked on adding those little Liberty City moments after the fundamentals of the game were adequetly crafted. All in all, it seems like the main gameplay/storyline was an afterthought.

| System Builder/NZXT Deals | Atleast it had more of a story to it. I played GTA3 and the story was so little and non-existant that I didn't ever even follow a story. Atleast this game has me feeling in a real story and real place. But, no game pleases 100% of gamers, so it's natural that given the exact same experiences, some will find it amazing while others won't. It just depends on the individual's traits, personality, etc.
