any body besides me play this game?

it's a space sim. basically fly around in space all day making money and building and trading things. if you let it take you in it's pretty immersive. it takes some patients to play the game and get good at it. huge community around it and TONS of mods.

^ that is just a rolling demo. (i.e just like a benchmark, no actual game play)

try the X3 Reunion demo if you want something playable. but be warned it does not work on win 7 or vista. so to see what it is like you almost have to buy the game. also it's best with a joystick. playing with mouse and KB on this type of game sucks.

Hmmm, I've never heard of this, but the graphics look decent. I don't have a joystick that vista will pick up, so I think I'm gonna pass though. There are a bunch of new games coming out, so I'll be ok I think.

I really only like the standard fps, rts, and rpg genres for the most part anyway.

I got this game today. I can't figure it out at all.

It picked up my MOMO racing wheel, which sucked! I need to configure it, and it would make a great controller for it. I'm picking up a Wingman Extreme, so maybe it'll be better than my racing wheel. Not entirely reading to give up on this game, but so far, I'm lost on what I'm suppose to do. Also, Rolling Demo was FAR nicer to my system than the actual game. I got ~50FPS average with it, maxed out (8X AA, 16X AF, 1440x900 res) . The max being around 120FPS. Can't get past 50FPS with lower settings, 1024x768, no AF and no AA.

^ strange. i usually average around 90-120FPS at 1680x1050 2xAA and 8xAF, depending what sector i am in.

read through the manual. it helps to explain alot. this game takes alot of patients at first, but after you get the hang of it, it really gets good.
