well some people dont know the meanin of "kick ***"

an x300 is not a good card and you will not get good quality FPS nor will you run most current games.

but what kind of FPS do you get?
you can see your fps by typing : net_graph 3

your ping most likely has everything to do with your DSL
DSL isnt the best speed internet to use when playing CS

my friend has spikes like that and when he comes to my house and uses cable he is perfect.

flush entity packets come from internet lag as well. but you should not get them constantly

go to windows task manager. go to processes. find Steam.exe and put the priority down to low. DO NOT SET HL.EXE TO LOW
only steam.exe
tell me if that fixes your lag problems.

also if you could tell me all the programs you have running while playing your game and if there are any other people in your house connecting to the internet at the same time. that would be helpfull

also if you really think your cal-im material i will be willing(if i get an open slot in my roster) to try you out. the tryout would happen within this next month. if your not interested just let me know either way. im always more then happy to let people scrim with muh team

World of Warcraft isen't such a "graphic hogging game" you know but still its strange that you can't play CS 1.6

Thx for all your help guyz but i did what pukgandi suggested by deleting all the config files and completely reinstalling everything and counter strike is working fine now. Thanks for the tryout tehdigit and for all the help but a buddy of mine already hooked me up with a spot on their starting five for cal-im.
