Will an NTSC PC Game work in a PAL region?

I'm looking to buy some PC games off ebay from the US but all the games are in NTSC format whereas I'm from Australia and I know things like dvd players and xboxes are PAL. I didn't know that PC games also had area codes, so will an NTSC game not work for my PC? Or is there software I can get to make other regions work on my computer?

To my knowledge PC games don't have Region Codes. A few years ago I imported Deus Ex 2 from America to here (England) and it worked as if I bought it from a UK shop, i.e. fine.

I also recently imported Command and Conquer 3, which also worked fine, so I don't think you should have any problems.

pcs do not suffer from pal/ntsc limitations....

Thankfully!

If I really want a game (which isn't often) and I don't want to wait for it to be released over here I'll import it. Costs slightly more in the long run what with import duties/tax and shipping but it can be worth it. Especially if certain games have been banned in some countries such as Australia.
