Why Crysis Is Going To Set Me Back £700....

Ok so we all know Crysis is just one of them games that need to be played at High settings, or all the wait wudnt be worth it...So why is this game going to cost me more than its £25 SRP ?... well... because A) To play it at them glorious high settings i will need A) A Core 2 Duo E6600 £185, B)an 8800GTX £350...Widnows Vista to play in DX10 £80 (OEM), A new power supply to power it all...£50. And why do i need to spend around £700 on all this... well do you seriously think an X1950Pro and an E6300 is really going to cut the mark for high settings, Certainly not

I feel your pain on that man, 100%. I just shelled out $1500 for a new computer (...and I still do not have Vista) and I am worried that my hard-earned computer wont be able to play games @ max settings for more than a year. So, let us figure out how much it will take me to play Crysis @ max:

Option 1:
Sell 8800GTS for appox. $350. (I will be amazed it I can get that for it.)
Buy a 8800GTX for $600.
What if I need more than a GTX? SLI?
Jesus, $850?!
My case couldn't handle all of the heat, so watercooling...
+$200
We're up to $1,500 more.
oops, still no Vista Ultimate.
+$400
Almost $2,000 just to play a game...?! Uh, no.

Option 2:
Buy another 8800GTS for SLI (Still haven't figured out if 2 8800GTS > 1 8800GTX) for $350
Buy watercooling for about $200.
Buy Vista for $400.
Still about $750 just to play a game. Not to mention I have to shell out $50 just to buy the game.

...and I wanted to buy a 22" LCD this summer...

This is getting ridiculous.

Precisely !. Wow you feel my pain, Spot on dude !. And you also got to remember in some of these videos there playing with 8800GTX, o and i saw lag ?, im afraid i did !.

Problem is, you can earn money, its a whole lot harder at 14 ¬¬.

as long as your not playing on a big screen(20" plus) then i cant see you not being able to make crysis look half decent!

At a guess im guessing your talking to Dante_ ??, Because i have no chance... seriously Johnny UK, i run agmes at 1280x760 16:10, all i have is E6300, Overclocked X1950Pro, 2GB Pc5300 RAM... I would be happy if it launched the friggin menu.

your lucky to have a computer in your room with a gfx card that can play CoD2 ¬¬ I have to go into ANOTHER room to play, that mean gettin up, WALKING around AND pushing buttons, moving my drink from one room to the next and sitting down AGAIN
