Default Unable to play F.E.A.R.

As you suspected, i cant play F.E.A.R.. any suggestions?

AMD 2.1 ghz processor
512 mb ram
80 gb hard drive
256 mb nvidia geforce 5500 graphics card
all settings are on minimum for the game

and it still wont run!

i turned off antivirus and antispyware so that i have almost nothing running except system processes, and it is still choppy and freezes?

any suggestions?

Upgrade to 1gb of RAM. Also, that video card is very low end.

A lot of people get sucked into video cards by amount of ram, a 128 mb 6600gt will own that card. A 9800 128 mb will own that card, dont buy a card just because of the amount of ram. That may be the problem but Id think it would still run at least crappily even with only 512 mb of ram. Press ctrl alt del in windows and check your cpu usage.

In the menu in FEAR there is an option I think to switch to DX8 shaders for lower end rigs try that.
