I have run it in Windows and in Linux, and it only seems to have this problem in Windows, on a Windows server. Linux on a Linux server works fine never had a problem ever. And I don't think there is a pay-for version of Wolfenstein: Enemy Territory. People seem to get confused ...
There are two games, here are their official titles, and what they should be called, and how they should be abbreviated.
Return to Castle Wolfenstein --- RTCW
Wolfenstein: Enemy Territory --- ET, Wolf:ET, WolfET, Enemy Territory
It is not RTCW: Enemy Territory, as the game has nothing to do with RTCW.
That would be like calling "Counter Strike: Source" something like "Half Life 2: Counter Strike: Source" ... or like calling RTCW something like "Quake 3: Return to Castle Wolfenstein."
