Default Mass Effect

Just passed this game a few minutes ago... And wow, I'd have to say its an awesome game. Anybody else played it? I didn't do all the side missions like i could have, so I only got around 12hrs put into the game.

Here's my character (at the end of the game): http://img150.imageshack.us/img150/6...4004605uv2.png
(makes for a nice bg as well).

Looks interesting. So does it play like an FPS or more like KOTOR or what?

Plays similar to KOTOR. It's 3rd person shooter, and you can upgrade different abilities by gaining XP from killing enemies. Guess you could call it a 3rd person RPG/Shooter. A couple different classes you can choose from at the beginning of the game, and you can do a character customization to make your char look however you want. The choices you make in the game with everybody affects different parts of the game, as well. Pretty interesting.

Well I've read a bit about it and I'm pretty interested now. I'll keep an eye out for a copy for sure. Can you control your party members like in KOTOR or are they AI controlled.

I finished the game the other day and I have to say, wow it's quite good.

Also I had a chance to play it in HD on the 360, and the PC is sooo much better. Not only is it easier to play with a keyboard/mouse but the textures and graphics in general are better.

You can kinda control them. Basic commands like hold, attack, regroup, etc. Tell them what weapon to use, and when to use special powers/abilities they have. They're mostly AI controlled, though. I honestly didn't use 'em much...they always ended up dying before me (even after I upgraded their weapons/armor, and put in the best enhancements to their weapons/armor), lol... Only gun that I used throughout the entire game...was the assault rifle xD...I used the sniper/shotgun a few times, but I mostly stuck tothe assault rifle and modded it, heh.

Lol yeah, I'd say all but racing games are much easier with kb/mouse than controller... Well, I guess fighting games too. But thats what gamepads are for eh? PC's FTW.

While playing it on PC, did your weapon ever overheat and never cool down? It did that to me a lot, especially near the end of the game...I always had to make sure I had a recent save game I could load up, and then I'd be fine for a while, until it happened again. Apparently its a widespread glitch in the game...

DRM was okay for you guys, too, then? I've heard some people complaining about it. It seems like they'd not bother with requiring a phone call after the 3rd activation after a few years when the game's not on shelves anymore.

And it looks like a great game, too. Just too expensive for me at the moment. I can never bring myself to drop $50 on a new game, cheapest I've found it was $45 on Newegg w/ free ship.

I have it for my 360, but I haven't played in a while, only have like 16 hours into it as well. So far so good though.
