| Hi all i just joined this forum after it was recomended by friend of mine. this is my PC config : -Windows XP Pro SP1 -AMD athlon 2400+ -GeForce FX5200 128MB -512MB ram about a month ago a weird problem started to occur on my PC. My pc started to hang unconditionaly. if i leave my pc idle it would hang every 20-30 mins.Once hung the only way to restat was to do a HARD Reset. But still it would hang. I re-installed my Windows but the problem didnt go away. Ok thats the begining. I could live through all that hanging but last week another crazy thing started hapening. I got myself a copy of Vampire the masquerade: Bloodlines and it worked nicely for almost a week, i completed a major portion of the game too without facing any of the bugs. Then last week the game started to hang up too however when i would return to windows ,after killing the game (ctrl+alt+del), windows would work fine and hang after the 20-30 min limit. I thot it was a problem with the game and returned it and got a copy of NFSU2 now this game hung at the very begining, just after the opening cutscenes. I tried installing some older games to check and all of them hung. Even the older ones like vampire the Masquerade and MaxPayne. I updated my drivers and still nothing happned. Could some one pls help me with this problem .....I cant Play games and its making me go crazy... ![]() |

| Ultra Techie | nitrolux, OKie, few suggestions... Run a full scandisk and a defragment on your hard disk. Any errors in the disc might make the system hang. Reinstall your graphic card drivers, if possible get the latest update from nvidia site. Check your RAM with memtest86 You haven't overclocked your processror..rite? anyz ,check your mobo/processor temperatures |

| ya. but it has never failed. from what i have heard YOU NEED FORMAT. YOUR PC HAS SOME SERIOUS PROBLEMS THAT I DONT THINK ONE COULD EVER SORT OUT COMPLETELY. just format you wont regret it. just backup you games and saves format reinstall your OS and drivers and games and you pc will be as good as new. of course make sure that its not a hardware problem before you format.
