Default Have you Played Supreme Commander?

I was a huge fan of Total Annihilation, bought the expansion packs, and had a blast. I also played a lot of other RTS's. I've read some good things about SupCom, but wanted to know what YOU thought.

Is it good? Fun to play? Resource hog? What system do you run it on, and do you have any problems?

Runs pretty well on my rig. The gameplay is a little lame though... guess it's just not my cup-o-tea.

E6600
2 gigs RAM
7900GS

I play it in vista on medium with no problems, I love this game not everyone likes it but online it is indeed supreme, I would suggest downloading the demo first. I recently bought c&c3 and its ok but to me doesn't come anywhere near SC.

Only medium !!!

The computer in my signature Supreme Commander Demo on 1024x768 medium setting, so your computer should run it much better than that.

yeah i have fidelity on high but that's about it any other changes would see limited results and i don't want any problems in long games with multiple units.

My computer really struggles playing the game on medium on any but the smallest maps. I have also played it on a twin opteron board with 4gb and a 7900gt - all settings high and it plays fine, though the is still some definate slowdown on the largest maps.

The game itslef is ok but not great as I was expecting. The campaign really sucks, the three sides are very similar, and, against the computer atleast the gameplay is just a bit too simple - large tech tree yes, large economy to manage yes, large armys to command yes, but all said and done rush tactics still pretty much win.

For the quality of the gameplay I dont think the massive system resources required are justified.

C&C3 kicks supreme commanders butt.

Although i am a big fan of the command and conquer series.

Each to their own c&c3 just feels too simple now at least sup com was trying something different and I love sup com online huge battles that last hours. I also prefer company of heroes to c&c3 but i guess its peoples own preference to what they prefer to play. All I say is download the demos and which ever you like most buy simple!
