Default Half-Life 2 Problem

I have had recent problems with the system i built:

Amd 64 3200+ 2.2ghz
40gig Maxtor HD
nvidia 6600GT agp 4x/8x
1gig Kingston RAM
ak86-L AOpen Mobo

While playing Half-life 2, it will freeze up on me, then post an error message stating the following:

http://show.imagehosting.us/show/609..._-1_609321.JPG

Also before i rebooted my HD, i would get the same message before i rolled back my video card drivers to a 71.28. This would fix the freezing problem, but give me other problems like random computer restarts in EQ and EQ2. It happened as well while on the desktop and just not gaming. I ordered a 430W PSU yesterday in place of my original 400w case PSU i had that people told me was bad. If anyone could be of help i would appreciate it.

did much of everything that was said on the thread on steam website. I ran my memtest, and i think i have a bad slot. I tested varius RAM sticks, (2x512) ina ll 3 slots, and the only time i had an error was when a single stick was in my first slot. So i removed both sticks from the 1st slot and have them sitting in 2 and 3. Ran HL-2 fine for 30minutes or so with no errors. Clean as a whistle. hope my new PSU will solve the random comp. restarts when it arrives, although none have happend in a little while.

Thanks for the help and ill keep up with replies.
