Default Grand Theft Auto problem

I just installed the game, it worked on my previous install, but my hdd crashed, so i had to migrate to another hard drive. now when i try and play GTA:SA it litterally plays in fast forward, cars go insanely fast, you walk insanely fast, even the movie at the begining doesnt play because it immediately speeds up to the part where you have to get the bike, even before the bike spawns, while the people at the begining are talking.

what could the problem be? driver problem? hdd problem? my os is installed on a 4gb ide hdd, and the game is running off of a 160gb sata. no i can not put the os on the 160 because i got too much important stuff on there and im not going to risk loosing anything.

what could the problem of the game be?
