It has EVERYTHING to do with it. GRAW disables max texture quality if your running on a videocard that has less than 512MB of VRAM in it. Just google and read up on it.

And I did find a decent amount of servers online. Look at the makers of the game's support site on how to make the username right, you CAN NOT use ane existing gamespy ID. and you have to create it a certain way. Theres a new patch too (1.1).
